Brisbane Pet Surgery operates off a model of both price and service – we want to provide clients with the ability to afford the procedure and the ability to understand their choices surrounding their pet care.
The Brisbane Pet Surgery difference
Everything we do is based on our strong philosophy of inclusivity. We endeavour to have you, the owner, present when your pets are being anaesthetised for their surgery. This is not common practice in most hospitals, and unheard of at referral centres. We understand the stress that your pets are experiencing during this process – due to the unfamiliar environment and the unfamiliar treatments performed to them – which is why your presence can be very reassuring to your pet. Not only is the procedure less stressful, it reduces the anaesthetic risk.
- We put your pet's safety and comfort first
- You can be present when your pet goes to sleep and when they wake up
- Where possible, you can view or become involved with the procedure
We encourage your presence
We offer pet owners the chance to watch the surgical procedures being performed (where possible), which is incredibly uncommon at both referral centres and the majority of other veterinary hospitals. We encourage owners to be present when their pet wakes from the surgery, and to visit their pet at any time during opening hours if they are in our hospital for care or surgery.
In the case of caesarean surgeries, we encourage owners to be present during the procedure and even help assist our nurses during the recovery of the babies.
Since childhood, Dr. Plummer has been passionate about caring for animals, and graduated with Honours in a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland. He opened the Brisbane Pet Surgery with the aim of making quality pet care affordable for everyone.
